Peter Ryan is a storyteller and a sociologist.
As a social scientist, he uses mixed methods to study religion, culture, and social movements. His fiction ranges from magical realism and fantasy, to science fiction, horror, and mystery.
He is an experienced sociologist, teacher, qualitative researcher, creative writer, and nonprofit manager. After ten years working for a small nonprofit and leading teams of international volunteers on programs in the Middle East, he received his PhD in sociology from the University of Notre Dame. His co-authored academic papers have appeared in the Sociology of Religion and the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. His short stories have also appeared in various publications, including Cricket Magazine, Into the Void, and Ghost Parachute.
